Why do we have weeds growing in the inter-row spaces?

Farming in harmony with nature requires a holistic view of the ecology around us. Weeds are beneficial to the environment and play an important role in the ecosystem. Various weeds (legumes) bind nitrogen from the atmosphere, while others attract insects to prevent them from attacking blueberries.

Several plants serve as breeding grounds for beneficial insects, like ladybugs, which eliminate aphids from orchards. Furthermore, these plants build soil carbon, which enhances soil fertility in the long run.

What is the white layer

on my Blueberries?

The white layer on the fruit is known as bloom. It is a thin layer of natural wax produced by plants. It preserves the fruit through slowing respiration, which helps the fruit stay fresher for longer.

How are Blueberries harvested?

Every Blueberry is hand-picked to ensure it gets picked at the optimal ripeness. We want to give our customers delicious Blueberries with a good shelf life.

The Blueberry harvest is very labour intensive and helps us to create many employment opportunities.
